VISAS: All travelers to Egypt must have a visa. Those traveling with USA or Canada passports can obtain theirs on arrival at Cairo. No photos, no forms and cost is about $18. Travelers with other passports should check with us whether you need one before arrival. | | Day 2 | Cairo | (Thursday) Breakfast then a full day tour to Memphis(the ancient capital), Sakkarra with the Stepped Pyramid, and Dahshur with it's famous Bent and Red Pyramids plus the new Imhotep museum. Overnight Cairo (B) | | Day 3 | Cairo | (Friday) After breakfast depart for the Giza Plateau to visit the seventh wonder of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid. Stare into the face of the inscrutable Sphinx and visit the Solar Boat museum. Spend the afternoon at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, featuring King Tut's treasures. In the early evening visit the Khan el Khalili bazaar where travelers have been finding bargains since the middle ages. Overnight Cairo (B) | | Day 4 | Cairo | (Saturday) Full day tour of Old Cairo with it's famous churches and synagogue plus the Citadel of Salah el Din, the Alabaster Mosque, the Ibn Tulun Mosque & Gayer Anderson House. If you are a movie buff or James Bond fan you might remember this museum from a tryst and murder in the film 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. In the evening enjoy the sound and light show at the pyramids of Giza. Overnight Cairo (B) | | Day 5 | Luxor | (Sunday) Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Luxor. Arriving staff transfers you to the famous Old Winter Palace. In the evening attend the sound and light show at Karnak temple. Overnight Luxor (B) | | Day 6 | Luxor | (Monday) After breakfast check out and depart for a day visiting Dendera and Abydos temples. Return to Luxor and board your Premier Nile cruiser, the Saint George I where you will have a Presidential suite. Dinner on board. Overnight Luxor (Breakfast at the hotel, box lunch, Dinner on the cruise ship) | | Day 7 | Edfu | (Tuesday) Breakfast on board before visiting the West Bank (Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon). Lunch on board then sail to Edfu. Afternoon free at leisure. Afternoon Tea. Dinner on board. Overnight Aswan (B,L,D) | | Day 10 | Aswan | (Friday) Breakfast on board. Free morning to enjoy Aswan or perhaps an optional (extra cost) tour to visit the famous temples of Ramses at Abu Simbel. Lunch on board before sailing on the Nile by Felucca (native sailboat) around Kitchener's Island. Afternoon Tea. Dinner on board. Overnight Aswan (B,L,D) NOTE: Feluccas are solely wind powered. If there is not sufficient wind this will not operate. Arriving transfer by air-conditioned coach to Alexandria, the city Alexander the Great built and Cleopatra made famous. Enjoy the comfort of the Four Seasons. Overnight Alexandria (B) | | Day 14 | Alexandria | (Tuesday) Full day touring the Greco Roman sites including the catacombs, Pompey's pillar, the museums and the new library. Overnight Alexandria (B) | | Day 15 | Cairo | (Wednesday) After breakfast check out and continue your tour of Alexandria. Return to Cairo in the early evening where you will enjoy the comfort of the Fairmont Heliopolis hotel. Single Price is for Single occupancy hotel rooms and cruise cabins based on a minimum of two travelers. Single travelers (one person on the tour) would have additional cost.
